Rock 'N Learn began in 1986 as an idea that would help children learn by putting educational material to music with a current sound -- the kind of music that kids enjoy and find motivating. Now with over 50 products, we have sold millions of audio/book and video programs to teachers and parents throughout the United States, Canada, and other countries. Rock 'N Learn programs help students learn math, phonics, reading, early childhood, social studies, Spanish, test-taking strategies, writing, and science. Our DVDs incorporate music with exciting, colorful imagery.
My son is in Kindergarten this year and has been struggling a little bit to learn his words. He has a hard time sounding words out so I was really excited when we were able to review a copy of Letter Sounds by Rock N Learn!
My son absolutely loves music so the fact that he can learn while listening and dancing along to music is wonderful and makes it more appealing to him. The games helped him a lot as well, he has a short attention span (which child doesn't!?) but the DVD was very engaging and fun it held his attention. The Letter Sounds DVD cover the most common sounds that a letter makes and then those sounds are used in games and by the end of the DVD kids are able to put the words together in sentences.
It truly is a great DVD and I plan on buying the Sight Words DVD as well, since my son's teacher keeps telling me he has issues with sight words. He enjoyed the Letter Sounds DVD and I am sure he will enjoy the Sight Words DVD as well! He'll be ready without an issue before we know it!
They also have apps for iPhone, iPad and Android devices!
